What this archive is, and how to read it.

These are historical snapshots

Go Beyond the Brochure ran from 2015 to 2019. Every piece here was written by a student or recent graduate about their own experience, at the time they wrote it. They describe food, safety, professors, nightlife and cost as they were then.

What this archive is not

• Not current advice. A dining hall, a professor, a bar or a safety record described in 2016 may be entirely different now.
• Not official school information. Nothing here comes from an admissions office, and nothing here is approved by a school.
• Not a ranking or a crime report. These are personal essays, not statistics.
• Not admissions counseling. Nobody here will help you apply.

Opinions are the authors’

Where original text was lightly corrected for grammar and clarity in 2026, that is noted on the page. The facts and opinions remain the original author’s own.

Corrections

If a piece is misattributed or a correction is warranted, it can be flagged for review. Nothing is silently rewritten.
